about

This song is about the feeling of impending doom..
I Struggle with the feelings of being trapped, and also the feelings of uprooting and leaving everything I have. Usually this in turn leads me to go on road trips, or just drives. This song is an ode to the feelings I have had, and will continue to have while driving the country roads and highways of this country. There's something in the wisdom of the trees, farms, and corn fields that seem to bring an overwhelming calm to me.

lyrics

I sail west, through streams of highways
Running with theses dreams.
With your smile burnt to my body
and waves, that echo while you sing.
As we head towards the fires,
Smoke signals us to turn around and leave.
Should we brave rougher waters,
or take warnings and loose all that we can be?

As the wheels carry on.
They pop and hiss, static of this song.
As our journey pushes on.
We fall silent, where we belong.

I sail east though mazes, of cornfields
that ripple in the breeze.
Or as lore says, its just monsters
that steal kids away never to be seen.
As I break I find it funny, is folklore meant
to keep parents at ease?
Or is it a way of our cultures, to pass down
unexplainable things?

As the wheels carry on.
A low rumble drones for this song.
As silence starts to fall.
I am calm, where I belong.

As the wheels carry on.
They pop and hiss, static of this song.
As our journey pushes on.
We fall silent, where we belong.
